Tackling MND: our global mission
Fuelled by his love of the game and the charitable work he supported in the city, Doddie built deep roots in Hong Kong long before his diagnosis. When he shared his news in 2017, his friends and supporters in Hong Kong rallied behind him.
What started as a single dinner organised by a dedicated group of supporters has grown into a cornerstone of our international efforts, and the Foundation was officially registered as a Hong Kong charity in 2023.
Fundraising in Hong Kong for MND research
Each year, during the week leading up to the Hong Kong 7s, the team hosts a fundraising dinner.
Bringing together our community of supporters and the world of rugby, these dinners have helped us raise hundreds of thousands of pounds. Combined with other fundraising initiatives, the generosity of the Hong Kong community provides a vital source of funds that help us push our global research mission forward.
