Mad Giraffe Atlantic Challenge

Former Special Forces Soldier Set to Row the Atlantic

Inspired by meeting Doddie at Murrayfield, former soldier John Davidson has signed up to the Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge which leaves Europe in December, bound for Antigua.

It is a huge challenge for Scots-born John who now lives in Herefordshire.

John has never rowed before and appreciates the scale of this challenge, both physically and mentally. But he is determined to succeed and is now training hard.

He is asking supporters to "make history with me".

"It takes one million stroikes of the oars to make it from La Gomera to Antigua so it would be amazing to get one million people to sponsor me £1 each. Huge numbers I realise but we should never stop aiming high as we shall always go a little further."
