Davie's Running for Doddie

Seventy year old Davie Mack is about to embark on a 76km Ultra Marathon and a climb of over 3100 metres in the Cevenne mountains in France on behalf of My Name'5 Doddie Foundation, on May 19th.

Training is going really well despite the earlier bad weather. Davie had a good, hot run last week along the St Cuthbert’s Way to Holy Island, a little preparation before the heat of running up mountains in the south of France.

Davie has run all his life, doing the Paps of Jura race 16 times during his time living on Jura. This was done in 14 hours. Davie is hoping to do this run in about 12 hours.

Davie, originally from the Borders, moved to Stow 3 years ago having lived in France for 10 years. Both children go to Stow school which has been supporting the My Name'5 Doddie Foundation. He saus he wants to raise as much money as possible for this worthwhile cause.
