High quality 5 Marathons in 5 days in support of the My Name'5 Doddie Foundation.

12th - 16th March, Stuart Thom will be joined by Budge Pountney in Belfast for all five of the marathons and leading the charge in Edinburgh at the same time is Mark Coulter. Each day will be a different route, some taking in the sights of Belfast, others along the Lough and North Down, but all are varied and relatively flat.

We are asking people to join the group for as many miles / days as they wish and for every mile you run, please donate at least £1 per mile to the JustGiving Page.

The event t-shirts are also available for purchase at £25 per top.

The 5in5 runners.

Stuart Thom:

Stuart is the organiser of the challenge who grew up in Melrose, but now lives in Belfast with his wife and three children. A keen supporter of the Foundation and the organiser of the Great Rugby Cycle and Long Weekend Cycle.

This event is out of Stuart’s comfort zone as has never run one marathon to date let along 5 in 5 days.!

Budge Pountney:

Former Northampton and Scotland rugby captain, Budge is aiming to run all five with Stuart in Belfast.

Budge joined Stuart on the Mizen to Malin event in 2019 and has not been a bike since, therefore Stuart was delighted to have Budge join him again on this event, which according to Budge is ‘right up his street.’

Now Academy Manager with Ulster Rugby.

Mark Coulter:

Mark grew up in Scotland attending Merchiston Castle School, London University, and The Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst.

He is a Munroist, mountain leader, diving instructor and a keen trail runner. Mark currently resides in Edinburgh running a successful residential agency business, Ellisons.

Mark will be completing the 5in5 in and around Edinburgh on the same dates.

Nicki Farrell nee Aitken:

Ex GB (AG) Athlete, advocate for Women in Sport and Technology with a passion for Diversity and Inclusion.

Driven and competitive in all aspects of life whether it’s closing a business opportunity through to running ultra-marathons, taking on every task with a ‘must win’ attitude delivering results quickly and efficiently.

With an unwavering commitment to diversity & inclusion, aims to embody everything that is to be celebrated about women in and out of the workplace.

Nicki will be completing 5in5 in as 4 solo marathons in and around Berkshire on the same dates, joining the Team in Belfast for marathon number 5.

Liz O’Connor:

Farm Director in England, Liz completed the Great Rugby Cycle 2021 round Ireland and has signed up to complete the Bolton Ironman later this year.

Liz enjoys running, swimming, cycling, Rugby, socialising, travelling and drinking lots of beer. Liz will be heading over to Belfast to run the final marathon with Budge and Stuart.

The penultimate day starts at Helen’s Bay Golf and follows the coastal path until Holywood.
