Doddie Aid Britannia Regatta

We want YOU to take part in the Doddie Aid Britannia Regatta! Jump on a rowing machine at the gym, club, or home with a team of up to 8 people and challenge yourself against our celebrity teams and attempt to win great prizes!

When: LIVE RACE: 28 January, 10am. (Although submissions from other times during the weekend of 28, 29 January count too).

What’s the Challenge?

It’s simple, see how far you can row in 3 hours! For added motivation, we will have a live leaderboard and live stream showing how our various teams of celebrities on The Royal Yacht Britannia are getting on so you can challenge yourself against them too.

There will be prizes for the winning team and you can compete in teams of up to 8 people (or individually if you’d like a real workout!).

How do I take part?      

The row is virtual but there’s a couple of different ways you can take part:

• Jump on any rowing machine, and row constantly for 3 hours at any stage during the Doddie Aid Britannia weekend. Once you’ve completed this , you must submit your miles and details using our mileage submission form here so that we can determine the winners.
  
  PLEASE NOTE: the winner will be asked for proof so please have a photo of your machine’s stats ready. As above, you can take part and submit your efforts at any point during the weekend.
  
  
• Alternatively, if you have a Concept 2 rowing machine, you can join the ‘Live 25’. This will insert you directly into the live race leaderboard and your efforts will be visible to everyone tuning into the live stream. If this is of interest, please email info@myname5doddie.co.uk telling us a little bit about yourself/your club. Further information and links will be provided to closer to the time. Please note, you will require good internet connection.

What if I’m not rowing?

• Why not come along to The Royal Yacht Britannia and watch the celebrities competing live? All ticket sales at The Royal Yacht Britannia that day are very kindly being donated to Doddie Aid so the more people attending the better!
  
  Tickets are limited (time slots start at 10am). Pre-booking online is essential.
  
  
• Alternatively, tune into the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation social media channels to watch the live stream of the event which will undoubtedly be an entertaining affair as we chat live to the celebs taking part.

The live stream:

The Doddie Aid Britannia Regatta will be live streaming to My Name’5 Doddie Foundation social media pages from aboard The Royal Yacht Britannia for the duration of the event. Even if you’re not taking part, make sure you tune in as we interview the celebrities taking part, keep a close eye on the leaderboard and chat to various people involved in Doddie Aid and The Royal Yacht Britannia.

Are there any prizes?

Absolutely! Each person in the winning team will receive an exclusive limited-edition Doddie Aid Britannia Regatta T-Shirt (not available anywhere else) and a bottle of Isle of Coll Gin.
