Clinical trial support in Newcastle

Summary

Dr Tim Williams, consultant neurologist and Medical Director, Newcastle MND Care Centre, will use this funding to support the creation of an attractive "blended" research active new consultant post with an interest in MND to complement the current MND clinical service and MND trial activity, ensuring succession planning at the Trust so that MND patients can continue to access clinical trials.

Why this funding is important

The ability for the Newcastle MND centre to participate in national multi-centre trials as well as local or joint trials is dependent on a sustainable and resilient clinical and research/trial infrastructure and staff, which will be facilitated by this award.
