Clinical trial support in Wales

Summary

This funding will enable Dr Marc Edwards, a consultant neurologist under the supervision of Dr Tom Massey, to have dedicated clinical research time of one day/week. The funding will immediately increase trial access for MND patients across south/mid-Wales and build a sustainable base for future MND trial development and delivery.

Why this funding is important

Wales has a population of ~3.2 million people spread over a large geographical area, ~0.7 million in the north and ~2.5 million in south/mid Wales. Those with MND in south/mid Wales are managed by the established MND Care and Research network, this funding will significantly expand MND trials work in the south/mid Wales region.For more information on studies delivered at this centre please visit the UK MND Clinical Studies website here.
