Fundraising
Well, what a golf day that was. The Renaissance Club and the Scottish weather put on a show and our golfing supporters certainly made the most of it. Doddie was whisked around the course by Foundation CEO/ official race driver Jill Douglas and enjoyed meeting the teams - although nothing could have prepared even the most focussed golfers for the one-liners the big man was delivering.
Despite a few bandit claims (mostly from the evening's excellent host/ auctioneer, Kenny Logan), Hugo Southwell took the overall victory in what was an absolute golfing clinic from the former Scotland fullback.
A delicious dinner gave way to a British and Irish Lions Q&A hosted by Andy Nicol starring guests Gregor Townsend and Gavin Hastings - 'Jaco Johan' was also invited to share his insights, but unfortunately could not attend.
Of course, one of the goals of the day was to raise money to find a cure to MND and the evening's auction did just that. Thanks to the generosity of prize donors and bidders, the auction went extremely well with prizes including Gregor Townsend's signed Lions blazer proving very popular.
