ASI supports podcasts

Aberdeen Standard Investments (ASI) is the latest corporate to become an Official Supporter of My Name’5 Doddie Foundation which includes support of a newly conceived podcast series, known as the Dodcast.

The Foundation was one of two charity partners at the Aberdeen Standard Investments Scottish Open events in 2018 and 2019. It was at the golf where the idea of a Dodcast was born – a new series of podcasts with Doddie about life, treatment, research and other topics relating to motor neuron disease (MND). Reaching out to the MND community and beyond, the Dodcast takes a candid look at the disease, sharing advice and tips through a series of engaging and informative podcasts.

Hosted by Jill Douglas, CEO of the Foundation and well-known TV sports presenter, each episode will include a panel of 2-3 guests from the medical and sporting world, all speaking to Doddie for his personal perspective. The episodes will allow us to catch a glimpse of Doddie’s personality and his rugby playing career with Melrose and Scotland.

In the opening episode, host Jill Douglas discusses Doddie's career, his reaction to being diagnosed with MND, and how he is living with the condition, alongside good friend Kenny Logan.

Jill says: “We are creating a series of these because we thought it would be fun to share some memories, some of the great times Doddie had on the rugby field, stories about his life, his friends”.

I have thoroughly enjoyed attending the Scottish Open events – so humbled by all the support I get anywhere I go, the sporting world really has come together on this.
