Doddie’s Triple Crown: 800 miles, four nations, one ride for MND research

Doddie’s Grand Tour - the 2025 edition of Rob Wainwright’s ride to raise vital funds for MND research - saw 30 teams complete a four-day cycle from Dublin to Edinburgh, raising over £1 million for My Name’5 Doddie Foundation in the process. 

So, what’s in store for 2026? Rob and his team have just announced they will be back next year with another epic ride - Doddie’s Triple Crown.

Doddie’s Triple Crown is an 800-mile cycle from Melrose to Dublin, taking place from 10-13 March next year. The aim? To raise further, and much needed, funds for MND research. 

Teams of cyclists will cover 800 miles on their bikes over the four days of the challenge, and will arrive in Dublin the evening before the Ireland vs Scotland Six Nations Championship match at the Aviva Stadium. A super start to Super Saturday! 

The route for Doddie’s Triple Crown is as follows, and will see cyclists pass through all four UK nations:

• Day 1 (10 March): Melrose to Leeds
• Day 2 (11 March): Leeds to Gloucester
• Day 3 (12 March): Gloucester to Fishguard - with an overnight ferry to Ireland
• Day 4 (13 March): Pembroke Dock to Dublin
