We are committed to our vision of a world free of MND.

Thanks to your support, we have committed £5.8 million to MND research since we launched the Foundation in 2017 and a further £1 million to help people living with the disease.

We hope you are all coping in these unpredictable and challenging times, and want to thank you for your continued support.

Doddie is in good form and enjoying life on the farm with the family. He remains as positive as ever and continues to give hope and support to those living with MND.

We were delighted to be named the People’s Charity of the Year at the recent Scottish Charity Awards, thank you to all who voted.

Doddie was inducted into Scottish Rugby’s Hall of Fame and received the Fletcher of Saltoun Award for Contribution to Public Life from the Saltire Society.

We are looking forward to our forthcoming Scientific Advisory Board meeting later this month. We continue to play a vital role in the MND community, collaborating with world-leading researchers, organisations and charities sharing our ambitions, all to ultimately drive progress in finding a cure for MND. This is led by Sean McGrath, our Medical Strategy Lead, who has been with My Name'5 Doddie Foundation since we launched back in 2017.

Our involvement in the MND research world is now established and respected. We are funding many MND research programmes, including two important platform trials that are currently being rolled out. Despite the challenges of COVID-19, real progress is being made in research and we continue to work closely with our scientific advisors in pushing this forward. We have also partnered with the Medicines Discovery Catapult, leading neurologists and industry to improve collaboration and accelerate drug discovery. At the same time we are making inroads into government, aiming to be an authoritative and esteemed voice of the MND community and to influence decision-making. We are helping patients in other ways too, such as developing information sources and providing feedback on research and drug developments. This is only possible through your continued and valued support, so thank you.

Our amazing fundraisers continue to come up with imaginative and inspiring ways to help us, especially when we are living with COVID restrictions.

A big thank you to players and members at Hong Kong Scottish Rugby Club who completed a combined walk of 7,950 miles! Stuart Thom and co cycled 410 miles around Northern Ireland on The Long Weekend and the Honister 92 Cycling Club climbed a combined 2.6 million metres over 115 days – and many more challenges have been completed too! And we are delighted that another boat will the crossing the Atlantic this winter, flying the Foundation flag, just as John Davidson did at the start of the year.

Team “On Shoulders of Giants” are 4 guys, Mark, Dan, Rauri and Justin, rowing Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge in December this year. They will be rowing the 3000 miles of the Atlantic ocean unsupported from La Gomera in the Canary Islands to Antigua.

A great many more of you have gone to extraordinary lengths to show your support, it is very much appreciated.
