Prime Minister recognises Davy's efforts

Davy Zyw, who has raised more than £116,000 for My Name'5 Doddie Foundation through a cycling challenge, has been awarded the Points of Light Award by the Prime Minister's office. The daily award recognises outstanding individual volunteers - people who are making a change in their community.

Davy, from Edinburgh, has completed Scotland's North Coast 500 cycle, raising over £100,000 for My Name'5 Doddie Foundation. He was diagnosed with motor neuron disease (MND) two years ago at the age of 30, and decided to take on the challenge with his family to raise awareness and support research into MND while he is still physically able. 

Davy said: "I am equally tired and thrilled to have completed the North Coast 500 in only four days. Although it was incredibly challenging, it was so rewarding and we were very lucky with the weather. The team was amazing, and I'm chuffed to bits with the awareness and money we have raised for MND and My Name'5 Doddie Foundation. We have raised a few glasses since we finished, and I hope to share a glass or two with the Big Man soon, cheers Doddie!'

The response and support has been incredible, and I just hope through my journey with the disease and my bike, we can inspire positive change.”
