Tractor run raises over £40,000 for My Name'5 Doddie Foundation

On Wednesday 14 August hundreds of farmers took part in a tractor run, raising over £40,000 for us.

The route saw a convoy of more than 250 tractors make their way from Haughs in Turriff to Thainstone Mart, Inverurie, with plenty of spectators coming out to wave and cheer them on.

Leading the way was the JCB Fastrac ‘Doddie the iCON’, driven by Scottish farmer Sandy Duffus, who is living with motor neuron disease (MND). Sandy’s passion for farming began at a young age when he helped out on his family’s farm croft at Cletty Den, Fyvie. He and his wife Sonya have brought up their three children - Kayleigh, Claire and Neil - in Auchterless, and have become an integral part of the local farming community.

The tractor run initiative was driven by two businesses, Annie Kenyon Architects Ltd and Agricultural Machinery Specialists CC Powell Ltd, which have both been committed to fundraising for My Name'5 Doddie Foundation - having raised over £20,000 at the Turriff Show earlier this year.

Local architect, Annie Kenyon, lost her mother to MND in 2021. Her loss inspired her to help raise money for the Foundation.

The tartan wrapped tractor was unveiled earlier this year, designed to raise awareness and support the fundraising efforts of the Foundation.
