Virtual Scientific Advisory Board

Our Scientific Advisory Board held its regular autumn meeting this week via Zoom. It brings together a team of leading research clinicians from the UK and Ireland.

Many of these neurologists are working on research programmes which are funded by My Name'5 Doddie Foundation and the meeting was an opportunity for us to hear updates on their progress and learn about future research plans. These projects include drug repurposing work, biomarker analysis and gene therapy, as well as the MND-SMART clinical platform trial. You will recall that we announced our involvement with SMART earlier this year.

As well as giving our advisors an update on the Foundation’s activities over the last six months, we also had some productive discussions about MND research from around the world, giving our advisers the opportunity to share recent scientific papers, thoughts, approaches and ideas. It was an honour to be among these MND experts and we’re excited to be part of the journey in finding a cure for MND.
