The November Series Ends with Success and Award Winning Weekend
Scotland ended their autumn series of matches with a win over Argentina and we marked the end of our November fund raising effort with a busy weekend for Doddie. He was recognised by the Lord Provost of Edinburgh and World Rugby for his contribution to rugby and his campagining and fund raising efforts for MND Research.
On Friday, after attending the Scotland captain's run at Murrayfield in the company of HRH The Princess Royal, Doddie and his family and friends and supporters were invited to the City Chambers where the Lord Provost, Frank Ross, presented Doddie with the prestigious Edinburgh Award.
Friend and former teammate Carl Hogg gave an address on behalf of Doddie and former recipients of the award including Sir Chris Hoy, Sir Tom Farmer and Ken Buchanan were there to enjoy the occasion.
The Edinburgh Makar (Poet Laureate) Professor Alan Spence was on hand with a specially commissioned poem.
On Sunday Doddie and Kathy traveled to Monaco for the World Rugby Awards where Doddie received the World Rugby Award for Character - a wonderful occasion amongst the rugby family and a great tribute to Doddie for his contribution on and off the pitch.
We will share details of our fund raising efforts through November soon and would like to thank you all for helping us mark our first anniversary with such a wonderful month!
