£1,000,000* | September 2022 - May 2025

Summary: We have teamed up with five other UK funders to create a funding pot to address major blocks of translational research in MND. Funding was awarded to six UK institutes, bringing together world-leading researchers to speed up the discovery of new treatments by finding better ways to identify and test new therapeutic candidates.

Why this research is important: The partnership acted as the springboard to the development of the UK MND Research Institute, which will benefit from an additional £50m investment into MND research from the UK government.

*This project is part of the Motor Neuron Disease Collaborative Partnership and is co-funded by LifeArc, MND Association, NIHR, MRC and MND Scotland.
