Summary: We have enabled the hiring of an MND research trials nurse, a specialised role that is pivotal to delivering MND clinical trials. Recruitment to this post has transformed the landscape of trial activity in Newcastle, such that they are now actively recruiting to several national and local clinical trials and are actively looking, where appropriate, to join or participate in future trials.
Why this funding is important: This type of funding is fundamental to enable the delivery of MND clinical trials and therefore to provide people living with MND the chance to take part in research. Now, where appropriate, the opportunity to participate in trials is a real option for people living with MND in the Newcastle area.
