Volunteers are a vital part of our community, and with their support we can reach so many more people. Opportunities range from helping at Yorkshire Pudding‑eating contests and cheque presentations to speaking at dinners or local club events. No two volunteer moments are ever the same!

Each opportunity to volunteer with My Name’5 Doddie Foundation may be different from the next. You may find yourself manning a merchandise stall at a fair or sporting event, accepting a donation at a cheque presentation, selling raffle tickets or cheering Team Doddie runners on at a marathon.

You can let us know if there are any specific events you would, or would not, like to get involved with when you register your interest.

Click here to fill out the form. We cannot wait to hear from you.

Our volunteer roles with are very flexible, and there is no minimum time commitment.

We will be in touch regularly with details of upcoming events in your area. Events could range from a quick half hour at a local club/organisation to accept a cheque, to up to six hours (with breaks of course) helping to man a stand at the Royal Highland Show. Most of these events take place in the evening or at the weekend.

After your expression of interest is submitted, a member of the team will be in touch to chat through the role. If you’re keen to go ahead, we ask all applicants to provide a reference and to sign a volunteer agreement.

Once this process is completed, we’ll be in touch again to officially welcome you to our Team Doddie volunteer community. To get your started you’ll be invited join a brief info session (virtual or in-person) and from there we’ll regularly keep you up to date with volunteering opportunities and updates via our newsletter.

Absolutely not! Although previous experience may be useful, we welcome applications from people looking to build their skills or get involved in a charity for the first time. If you are keen to get stuck in, enthusiastic and friendly, you’ll fit in brilliantly. We will provide you with all the resources you need along with a briefing before each event.

Yes, we’ll cover all reasonable out of pocket expenses. This includes food, when an event covers a mealtime, and any travel costs. If you decide to drive to an event, it is the responsibility of a volunteer to ensure that their insurance covers them for this purpose.

Please get in touch at info@myname5doddie.co.uk and we will be happy to help.
