Brickhampton Golf Day raises £7,000 for the Foundation

27 July 2021

The event took place at Brickhampton Court Golf Complex, Gloucester on Thursday 15th July 2021 and raised over £7,000.

There were 52 golfers taking part and another 60 attending in the evening for the social event. The majority of those who attended were retired officers from Gloucestershire Constabulary.

The day was supported by local businesses, individuals and the National Association Of Retired Police Officers (Gloucestershire Branch). The Foundation’s CEO, Jill Douglas and Deputy Chief Constable, Jon Stratford, attended the event to conduct the prize giving. Jill also talked to the attendees about the work the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation delivers and how the money raised will help find a cure to MND.

Sean said: ‘We decided to run the event after the diagnosis of their friend and former colleague, Tim Camp. It started out as a round of golf and a curry for a couple of us with Tim coming round with us in the buggy. It ended up with a round of golf for 52, 111 having a curry, Tim going round in the buggy and raising in excess of £7000!

‘Tim and the team chose the charity, because of its vision at its inception in 2017 for a world free of MND and desire to fund research to find a cure. Tim’s motivation was to help the next generation.’

The Golf Team event was won by Scotty and Friends, and the individual prize by Tony Summers. All prizes included bottles of Doodie Wine air freighted to the UK for the event.

Thank you to Sean and everyone involved for organising a wonderful event!
