Cunninghams’ Complete Lincoln to Letterkenny Cycling Challenge

06 August 2021

The bike ride was organised by Jack after his brother Mark, a life-long rugby player, lost his fight with MND in January 2021. The 300-mile cycle ride started in Lincoln, where Jack lectures at the University and from there went to Mark's hometown of Liverpool. On this leg he was accompnaied by his brother Mike and his sister-in-law, Rita.

They were joined in Liverpool by a group of Marks friends and his wife Carole and children to toast his life in his favourite pub, the Crows Nest in Crosby. After Liverpool the next leg was from Belfast to Letterkenny and Jack was joined by Irish members of his family, Cormac, Enda, David and Ronan. They were welcomed by a party of friends and family at the finishing point at Letterkenny Cathedral.

Jack commented on the ride, saying: ‘The wheels will keep turning, the legs will keep on running and the feet will keep on walking in our family so long as the menace of MND remains.’

On behalf of everyone at the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation, thank you Jack, his family and friends for raising such a fantastic amount.
