We were delighted to see Doddie receive the Helen Rollason Award at this year's BBC Sports Personality of the Year in Aberdeen.

Friends, family and rugby teammates gathered at the new P&J Arena to see Doddie receive a magnificent welcome and standing ovation from the crowd.

It was a star studded night to celebrate another fantastic year of sport. After his heroics in the summer, England cricketer Ben Stokes won the annual Sports Personality award with Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson being given the Lifetime Achievement award.

Doddie was delighted to be honoured and spoke of his determination to help find a cure for MND and the work of the Foundation, he also paid tribute to the charity's thousands of supporters and to his wife Kathy and sons, Hamish, Angys and Ben whi were there to enjoy the evening.
