Doddie5 Ride: A Wheelie Great Day

The annual Doddie5 Ride took place on Sunday, with close to 1000 cyclists donning their tartan lycra and departing Melrose Rugby Club in support of Doddie and the Foundation.

Initially, it looked like the weather might cooperate, but seasoned veterans of the Doddie5 Ride knew better and were well-prepared for the inevitable downpour which has become a feature of all Doddie5 rides.

However, nothing could dampen the cyclists’ spirits as riders of all ages tackled three routes of varying distances, taking in the majestic Borders scenery. A real highlight of the day was the arrival of Doddie who was in great form and enjoyed watching the sea of tartan snaking around the routes.

A huge thank you to everyone who took part, especially to the organisers who put on such a great day.
