Lions Trek for Doddie

04 June 2021

Being part of the Lions in 1997 was one of the great highlights of Doddie’s rugby career; the friendships and relationships forged during the Tour have remained, and we’re delighted that some of those friends and former teammates are trekking 35 miles from Doddie’s farm in the Scottish Borders to The Vodafone 1888 Cup at BT Murrayfield on the eve of the match.

This fantastic challenge, taking place on 25 June 2021, will see the trekkers set off at 8 am, after bacon butties and Maxi Muscle porridge at Melrose Rugby club, take part in a 35-mile challenging trek across the spectacular borders from Galashiels to BT Murrayfield. The trekkers will experience heather-clad rolling hills, miles of forests and woodland, lochs and rivers. A multitude of fantastic routes criss-crosses the area, and it will be a journey to remember.

Every participant is tasked with raising £1,500 for the Foundation. Please see the Just Giving link below to see their progress.

Why not join Virtually?  Join the 100 trekkers and walk with us on Friday, 25 June. You may create your own fundraising page within the Just Giving page below or just donate to the event.
