Marathon Golf Challenge on Eve of RWC

There is no doubt that Scotland Head Coach Gregor Townsend will be sleeping in the plane to Japan after completing a marathon golf challenge on the day before he and the team flew to the Rugby World Cup.

Gregor's Borders Golf Challenge saw the Scotland boss set off with Doddie and his suport team at 5.30am and he olayed his first hole at Newcastleton at 6.35am!
The day ended back in St Boswells Golf Course at 9pm after Toony had played a hole at every Borders course.

Gregor, Doddie and their team received fantastic support at every course and a warm welcome from fellow golfers, rugby fans and fundraisers - there was even a brass band at Innerleithen!

Our special thanks to all the sponsors who contributed to the success of the day, to Gregor and his family, Iain Stoddart from Bounce Sports, Ross Duncan at the Scottish Golf Association, Mercedes and all the clubs who got behind the challenge.

You can support Gregor’s challenge through his Just Giving page:

The 21 golf courses in the Scottish Borders are at Duns, Eyemouth, Galashiels, Hawick, Innerleithen, Jedburgh, Kelso, Lauder, Lilliardsedge, Lilliesleaf, Cardrona, Melrose, Minto, New Woll Estate, Newcastleton, Peebles, Selkirk, St Boswells, The Hirsel, The Roxburghe and Torwoodlee.
