New Trustee For Foundation

24 September 2020

We are delighted to introduce the latest trustee to join the board of My Name'5 Doddie Foundation.

Dr Annabel Howell brings a wealth of experience to the Foundation. Annabel trained at the Royal Free Hospital and has enjoyed a variety of medical roles including director level appointments in primary and secondary care as well as clinical governance. As a palliative care specialist and previously as a GP, she has looked after many people with MND, ensuring they receive high quality person centred care and was involved in the successful fundraising for the purpose built palliative care unit in the Borders. Annabel also is Chair of the Scottish Partnership for Palliative Care. Her sport was rowing and she still sits on the British Rowing Medical Advisory Panel and supported the GB Rowing Team in training and competition prior to the Beijing Olympics. She lives in the Scottish Borders with her husband Julian and family.

Annabel said: "It is a real privilege to be invited to be a Trustee of the Foundation, which has been so successful in fundraising and funding research to find a cure for MND, supporting those with MND, as well as raising awareness of the disease. I will work tirelessly to support the Foundation and Doddie moving forward."

Scott Hastings, Chairman of trustees, said: "It is fantastic to have someone with Annabel's obvious experience join the trustees as we look to the future. Her energy and wise counsel will be great assets to our existing board and we look forward to working together in pursuit of our goals."
