As SPPA’s 2020 charity partnership with the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation comes to a close, we would like to thank everyone who took part in the challenges and donated to our cause.
Back in July they began with the Doddie 500(000) challenge to walk 50 million steps. And a month later they achieved their target, which was the equivalent of circumnavigating the globe. An amazing effort!
In December, colleagues at SPPA strapped on their crampons (slippers for indoors) and began counting their flights. Some climbed the Eildons or the Three Brethrens, others used stairs. When the final totals were added they managed to climb Everest – twice! A fantastic achievement, and not to say an easy one!
Though bake sales and raffles were unable to take places this year, SPPA were still able to raise an incredible £4,500 (over three times more than they have previously raised), which will help aid research into motor neuron disease. The cheque will soon be hanging in SPPA’s Doddie Weir Suite.
From everyone at SPPA – “We would like to thank all who took part, cheered us on and donated – we couldn’t have done this without you! And to our amazing charity partner, the team and the man himself. All an inspiration.”
