Thrifty Car & Van Rental has renewed its partnership with Motor Neuron Disease (MND) campaigner and rugby legend, Doddie Weir OBE, to support his ongoing efforts to raise funds for the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation.
Since his diagnosis with MND in June 2017, Doddie has embarked upon an inspirational journey with his My Name’5 Doddie Foundation to raise awareness of the disease as well as raise funds to aid in the research of causes of MND and potential cures.
On continuing his partnership with Thrifty, Doddie Weir said: “Having a strong support network is a vital part of the ongoing work of the foundation and I am over the moon to continue working with Roger [Hancock], Martin [Wilson] and the entire Thrifty family. Their encouragement and support has helped the foundation to continue its amazing work around the UK. Thank you from the bottom of my heart from me and everyone with MND for your continued support.”
Martin Wilson, Managing Director, Thrifty Car & Van Rental UK, said: “Doddie’s passion and drive to raise awareness of MND is an inspiration to us all and we are delighted to continue our partnership with him and the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation. Having known Doddie for over 20 years, he’s not one to back down from a challenge, and to show our support for his simply incredible work, Thrifty will continue to donate £1 to his foundation for every single booking made through our website in 2020. We are so proud to continue this journey with the big man and My Name’5 Doddie Foundation.”
