THE Rotary Club of Perth has joined the growing ranks of supporters backing the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation.
The annual Perth Silent Auction has raised more than £350,000 for deserving causes over the last 13 years.
Backed by The Perthshire Advertiser, Rotarians have chosen the Foundation as one of the main beneficiaries of this year’s event, which reaches a climax on Saturday, December 7.
There’s still time to get bids in for more than 400 lots donated by big hearted businesses.
These range from hospitality at St Johnstone; tickets for Man Utd; hospitality for Hearts v Rangers and Celtic v Hibs; golf at courses like Archerfield, Blairgowrie, Elie, Bruntsfield, Gleneagles and Torwoodlee; dinner at award winning restaurants; rare whisky and plenty more besides.
“Having met Doddie in Edinburgh, we were humbled and amazed at his achievements.
“Doddie is an inspirational character and our aim is to maximise the financial support we can offer from this year’s Perth Rotary Silent Auction,” said club president Gordon Hay.
“We now have more than 425 donated lots and many of them make for perfect Christmas gifts. Bids are being taken until Saturday 7th December.
