Tartan Touch Rugby Success

A fantastic day was had by everyone on the 2nd of January at Morris Equestrian Centre for the "Field of Dreams" Tartan Touch 7s Tournament. This was held by Muirhead Plant to celebrate 25 years in business and raise funds for My Name'5c Doddie Foundation.

Twenty teams took part in the rugby providing some great games and with digger driving and kicking and rowing challenges and lots of kids activities - there was plenty to keep everyone entertained.

The rugby was won by Biggar defeating Nether Robertland/Stewarton in a very tight  final but the highlight of the day was undoubtedly the "Heavyweight Hurdle"- 8 "top class athletes !!!" careering over an obstacle course - won easily by Big Jim Curry !! and although the roar from the crowd calling for the TMO to intervene was deafening- the result stood.

But most importantly the farming and rugby community came out in force and the 1200 that attended had a great day and through everyone's generosity raised £9000 for Doddie's Charity.

A Huge thank you to everyone involved especially the players, referees, helpers and the organising committee of Fiona, Douglas, Neil, Stuart and Abby.
