Two Years On - Doddie Upbeat As Ever

It is two years since Doddie shared his diagnosis to coincide with global awareness day for MND. This week his energy and positive approach was highlighted at an event at The Belfry with some special guests.

Doddie joined Matt Hampson at the Belfry this week, alongside Mike Tindall, Tom Youngs and Bryan Redpath to launch a joint fundraising dinner.

The Captain’s Dinner will take place at Battersea Evolution on the 21st November 2019 three weeks after the conclusion of the Rugby World Cup. The event will raise funds for both the Matt Hampson Foundation and My Name’5 Doddie Foundation, which looks to raise funds to aid research into the causes of Motor Neurone Disease and to investigate potential cures.
Doddie said: "It has been great soending time with Matt today and looking at how e can work together. Hambo's motto is Get Busy Living and that really applies to us both. A fresh mind is the best pill and, for both of us, it's really the only pill we have."
Matt Hampson was paralysed from the neck down in a rugby accident 14 years agi and has devoted his time since to helping others with similar catastrophic injuries through The Matt Hampson Foundation.
As always, we expect the rugby community to come together to their own and this dinner looks set to be one of the events of the year!
