A duck race, staged by Lesmahagow Young Farmers, has proved a big success and received fantastic local support.
Lesmahagow Young Farmers' Club held their charity duck race on the 29th of August to raise funds for My Name'5 Doddie Foundation. It was a great day and the event was very well supported. They managed to attract some great prizes for the top 12 ducks including hotel stays, restaurant vouchers, hampers, and cash.
Overall the young farmers sold close to 700 ducks and raised £1590.54 for the Foundation, by far the largest amount they have raised for charity in a few years!
Treasurer Fraser Russell said: "I think the fact it really is such a fantastic charity helped and the strength of feeling from the Lesmahagow & district farming community to support Doddie's MND cause was overwhelming."
Very many thanks to all who made this possible.
