Paul Spriggins is joining a team four at the Blakely APEX Games in September, and has kindly chosen to raise funds for My Name'5 Doddie Foundation whilst he is at it.
Paul is part of a team of four taking on the challenge which is a three stage hybrid work out at the APEX Games this September. On 20th September 2025, Paul's phyiscal strength and determination will be demonstrated as he takes on quite the challenge after a tough period in his own life. In Paul's own words:
"In 2020 I was faced with neurological issues that were caused by Covid. My journey from 2020 to the present took me through the terrifying journey of neurologists, nuroscientists and specialist diagnostic professors. From being unable to move the left hand side of my body, being unable to walk and function in ways I had only months before, the neurological investigatory journey is tedious, frightening and it causes so much pain and stress for families. It is a living nightmare.
I am one of the lucky ones, my months and months of tests identified lifelong neurological damage but thankfully I was not diagnosed with a nurodegenerative terminal illness.
Now 5 years later, as part of a team of 4, (the average age being late 20's, I will be 49) I am taking part in the Apex Games, preparation is Hyrox training with additional home and road training. An opportunity to finally put the covid neurology issues in order, an opportunity to put my body at its best limit and not its worse, and an opportunity to raise funds for My Names Doddie Foundation.
I am delighted to finally be in a position where I can give back by asking you to help me raise funds for MND as I push the body boundaries that so many others who are impacted by this awful disease have had taken away from them.
Thank you"
