The Royal Dash
Wednesday 18 June 2025
Northern Ireland
Join the 'race' in aid of My Name'5 Doddie Foundation and 40tude curing colon cancer.
In honour of the British & Irish Lions kicking off their tour to Australia with a match against Argentina in Dublin on Friday 20th June, The Royal Dash will take on a Lions theme… Four teams, Ireland, Scotland, England and Wales will cycle 180 miles from Royal County Down Golf Club to Royal Portrush Golf Club and finish at The Royal Belfast Golf Club.
Each team will have a team Captain and a legend or two from that country who can manage the big miles.
Scotland team Captain: Simon Danielli. Scotland Rugby, 32 tests.
Wales team Captain: Alan Bateman, Wales Rugby 35 tests, B&I Lions 1 test.
Ireland team captain: Paddy Johns, Ireland Rugby, 59 tests.
England team Captain: Tom Wood, England Rugby, 50 tests.
This is not an official race, but as we all know it will be. You will be timed for your cycle time (taking off the break time) and at the last stop (Ballymena RFC) the groups will leave as per their time to date, so the last 30 odd miles will be ‘fun’.
Costing £275 per cyclist, your entry includes:
• Transport to Burrendale from Royal Belfast Golf Club on Tuesday 17th June
• Overnight stay at the Burrendale Hotel & SPA, Tuesday 17th June
• Dinner at the Burrendale Hotel & SPA • Breakfast on the Wednesday morning
• Branded Cycle jersey
• Branded event t-shirt
• ‘Team’ support vehicle
• Food at the nominated stops
• Lunch at The Royal Belfast Golf Club 19th June (part of the Golf day event)
