Join the toughest charity bike ride, Hilly Valley 2023!

The Hilly Valley is arguably the hardest charity bike ride in the UK. The toughest route, the Penny - named in honour of Penny Ford who sadly passed away from MND in 2022, covers 110.5km and 3,114m of ascent through the beautiful Calder Valley, home to hit TV show Happy Valley. We also have two alternative routes; The Lloydy and The Doddie which cover less distance and ascent and are better suited to less experienced riders - though still pose a significant challenge.

The event is free to enter, instead we invite participants to donate to one or both of My Name'5 Doddie or CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably). The Penny has been described as "brutal", "a beast", and "cruel" by local pro riders who live in and around the valley. It's undeniably tough, but remember why you're doing it, all that suffering is raising money and awareness to support two vitaly important charities.
