John's Maratona Dles Dolomites Cycling Challenge

John Fyall is ‘celebrating’ a landmark birthday with an epic cycling fundraiser for My Name’5 Doddie Foundation.

On 2 July John will join 9,000 cyclists from over 70 countries to take on one of cycling’s biggest challenges – the Maratona Dles Dolomites.

John said: “I turn 50 this year, so what better way to mark it than raising money for such a great cause?

“The event offers a shorter route on the day. I pledged to do the long route if I reached my fundraising target, so I’m both delighted and concerned that I hit the target in just a few hours!”

John will don a My Name'5 Doddie Foundation tartan top for the event. He hopes to complete the gruelling course, which crosses seven mountains and climbs more than 4,000 metres, in under ten hours.

“I’d like to complete it in less than ten hours,” said John. “But as long as I get over the finish line before the pubs close I’ll be happy.”
