Team Phil's Manchester Marathon World Record Attempt

Sunday 14 April 2024

Emirates Old Trafford, Manchester, M16 0PX

In memory of a great friend Phil Rossall who sadly passed away from MND last year, and to raise awareness and funds for My Name'5 Doddie Foundation and the Motor Neurone Disease Association, Team Phil will be attempting to break the Guinness World Record for the fastest 6-person costume (Philapillar the Caterpillar) over a marathon distance at the Manchester Marathon on Sunday 14th April.

Team Phil started in 2019 to raise awareness and fundraise for the Motor Neurone Disease Association. It was founded by Manchester-born Phil Rossall who was diagnosed with MND and sadly passed away in 2023. Ever since his diagnosis in 2016, he had focused on what he could do, and not on what he couldn't. He wanted to inspire others that despite his diagnosis, he was still able to do something amazing. Phil has held two Guinness World Records, written books and undertaken "blinkathon" blinking challenges, all to create a platform for MND.

In 2024, Team Phil will also be supporting My Name'5 Doddie Foundation through this and other exciting iniatives. Why Team Phil is continuing on is probably obvious - to continue Phil's great work and to raise awareness of the devastating impact motor neuron disease has on sufferers and their families and friends. And importantly to direct attention towards the need to raise funds for research to find a cure as well support those who are living with the disease.
