We really appreciate your support!

Maybe you’re a keen baker and could host a coffee morning, or if you fancy a more athletic activity then how about a sponsored bike ride or 5k run?

If you're thinking of organising your own event and are looking for inspiration and advice, how about one of the following:

  • cake sales
  • quiz nights
  • coffee mornings
  • lunch/dinner and auction
  • golf tournament
  • sponsored activity
    e.g. run or cycle ride
  • raffles

Spread the word & promote your event

The more, the merrier. So why not tell as many people as possible about your plans? You can get in touch with your friends, colleagues, the press and your local community.

Contact your local press

Contact your local press to get the word out and get your community involved. You can't go wrong with promoting your fundraising activity through local media. You might wish to get in touch with news desks at local newspapers or try to get the local radio and television stations interested in your event.

Spread the word at work, school and among your friends

Don’t forget your email contacts and internal websites, newsletters or noticeboards. Your friends, colleagues and employers will often be keen to hear your news, see pictures and follow your progress.

Social networking

A wonderful way to spread the word is on social networking websites such as Facebook and Twitter.

  • Go viral with your fundraising – use Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn or YouTube to get your message out!
  • Shout about your fundraising and encourage your friends to donate/come along to your event
  • Tell your story on your JustGiving page and use Facebook/Twitter to share why you’ve chosen to fundraise for us and include your JustGiving link!
  • Post photos or videos of your event or challenge
  • Thank everyone on Facebook/Twitter after your event

Good luck and here's wishing you lots of luck for your event! Please see below for useful resources to download and support your event.

Shopping online on AmazonSmile is a way of triggering donations to The My Name’5 Doddie Foundation at no cost to you.

What is AmazonSmile?

AmazonSmile is a website run by Amazon. It’s exactly the same as amazon.co.uk, but there is a wide range of products eligible for a donation. Every time you buy an eligible product, Amazon donates 0.5% of the net purchase price (excluding VAT, returns and shipping fees) to one of several charities, at no additional cost to the customer or to the chosen charity.

You can choose which charity Amazon donates to, and the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation is one of the options on the charities list.

How to donate to The My Name’5 Doddie Foundation through AmazonSmile

  1. Go to smile.amazon.co.uk and login into your regular Amazon account.
  2. Choose My Name’5 Doddie Foundation from the charity options.
  3. Do your shopping as usual.
